Top 10 Stays of 2020
In 2020, I visited more than 50 short term rentals. Here are the places I most recommend you add to your wishlist! You can watch a short review of each place on my round-up video here or watch a detailed video review of each property listed below!
1. The Cliffs Hocking Hills, OH
This is my favorite for the entire year. The cabin sleeps 18 and is just as mind blowing on the inside as the outside. The heated swimming hole is a one of a kind. Who can say they swam in a waterfall swimming hole at their cabin? There is also a secret passage way to the basement which offers loads of games and fun.
2. The Wunderlust Treehouse Crane Hill Alabama
This is a perfect couple’s retreat. There is an in suite soaking tub and outdoor showers. There is 40 acres of beautiful property and a pond to explore. Shout out to Brad and Mitzy who are the nicest hosts!
3. The Sycamore Treehouse Fredericksburg, Texas
If you love tiny homes or treehouses, this one is for you. It has a great design and location—only a few minutes drive from downtown Frederickburg. The owners also have 4 other treehouses you can check out that are just as great if this one is booked!
4. The Stargazing Cabin Tiny Home Twentynine Palms, California
This is one of the most unique Airbnbs I have been to. I love the desert for many reasons but especially because there are no bugs. It makes the stargazing bedroom so enjoyable! My wife and I slept outside the entire night when we stayed here. It is also really close to Joshua Tree National Park.
5. The Little River Tiny House Maryville, Tennessee
A tiny house MUST! This one packs a lot in a little space. It has a walk out window to the top deck space which gives you a great place to relax and a great view the river. Very cool!
6. Tulum House Tulum, Quintana Roo, Mexico
I am a huge fan of anything tropical so Tulum has been one of my favorite spots to visit! We stayed here on our honeymoon and actually preferred it over the other spot at the beach. It’s at a great price point for being a 3 bedroom home in Tulum with a private backyard and plunge pool. I definitely recommend this place if you’re headed to Mexico any time soon!
7. On the Rocks Shipping Container Rising Fawn, Georgia
This is a really neat shipping container tiny house on top of a huge cliff! You get to wake up to miles and miles of views over the city and watch the sunrise.
8. Waco Shotgun House Waco, Texas
Waco is such a fun spot to visit especially if you’re a fan of Magnolia. This unique shotgun style house is only a couple blocks from the silos and has a beautiful interior. Chip and Joanna Gaines actually played role in designing this place! You can watch it on Season 3 of Fixer Upper.
9. Casa Conejo (The Harebnb) Joshua Tree, California
This is a two story tiny hone that is still under 400sqft! It has a unique layout and an awesome rabbit themed interior. It is very close to Joshua Tree National Park and is hosted by the legend, Robuilt.
10. Tiny House Retreat Atlanta, Georgia
This is a very practical tiny house located in the heart of Atlanta. It is beautifully designed and makes for a really fun and comfortable stay!
11. Njem Haus Fredericksburg, Texas
The Njem house takes luxury to another level. The interior is gorgeous with plenty of space for multiple guests and a huge backyard perfect for entertaining. There’s a hot tub, massive pool, and plenty of lounge chairs. We would love to visit again with our family!
12. Casa Kuna Yucca Valley, California
Boulders surround this home to add adventure (and privacy) to your stay. The unique interior compliments the amazing outdoor space. Sitting out amongst the boulders in the hot tub and plunge pool was an incredible experience. We stayed here right before James Charles. Thats cool, I guess.
