Life Updates: July 2021
How quickly life changes! This past year has been a whirlwind. For those who may not know, I have been doing YouTube full time since November 2019. At that time, Savannah and I had just met and had begun dating. I proposed in May 2020 and two months later we got married (7/11). That means we are coming up on our one year wedding anniversary and what a year it has been!
Right before we tied the knot, we closed on a house that we were planning to flip. So, when we got back from our honeymoon in Tulum, we moved in to Savannah’s apartment (about an hour from where I was living before) and we began the long and grueling process of renovating. During this time, Savannah was working as a High School Spanish teacher and I was traveling quite a bit for filming so our renovations took a little longer than expected—about 7 months. We wrapped up renovations earlier this year in March but our plans for the house had changed.
We found out in late November that Savannah was pregnant so instead of flipping the house, we moved out of the apartment and into our newly renovated home. At the end of April, we made the decision that Savannah would leave her job as a Spanish teacher and begin working with me! This was a bittersweet decision for her because she really loved her job but it is also a real blessing because she will be able to work from home, be with our little guy and help me accomplish the things I have wanted to do for a long time (like this website!) but have not had the time to do. We are also really thankful that we won’t have to be apart for long periods of time when I travel for filming. This past year I took a trip to Hawaii to film and she couldn’t come..even her students agreed it was cruel—haha!
Since the school year ended, we have been on the go non-stop traveling and filming so that we have enough footage to last us through a few weeks before and after our baby makes his arrival. We’ve gone to Utah (twice), Washington, Florida, and Wisconsin. Thankfully, Savannah has been able to stay really active and we’ve been able to do a few hikes and adventures on some of our trips. We actually tried vlogging two of our stays which will hopefully be coming out on the channel within the next few weeks but, we must say, it was much harder than we were anticipating! It is definitely a different skill compared to filming and reviewing a home but it was fun! We know it will be cool to show our son his mom hiking him around once he is a little older.
As for now, we are staying (mostly) local. Savannah is 35 weeks pregnant so we took our last flight a few days ago. We have two more homes to film in the next two weeks so we are on to planning trips for after our baby is here. Until then, we will be doing lots of editing and googling tips for traveling with a newborn. Otherwise, we are still decorating our house, trying to gather all the baby necessitates and, most importantly, agree on a name for our son. Right now, we are stuck between Calum (Sav’s pick) and Weston (Levi’s pick). And no, we do not have a middle name picked either. All we know for sure is that his last name will be Kelly and he will make the most adorable travel companion :)
Thank you for your continued support and for tagging along on our adventures!
